Our approach to copyright
Predicament Measures respects the rights of creators and expects the same from anyone who uses the site. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, you can send a takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). The Predicament Measures Editorial Team handles these notices.
How to send a takedown notice
Email your notice to legal@predicamentmeasures.com. A complete notice should include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed
- The web address of the page on Predicament Measures where the material appears
- Your contact details, so we can reach you
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner
- Your physical or electronic signature
A notice that is missing these items may be harder for us to act on, so please include all of them.
What we do after a valid notice
When we receive a valid notice, our editorial team reviews the page and the material named in it. If the notice holds up, we remove or disable access to the material and may tell the person who published it that a notice was received. We may share the notice with that person.
Counter-notices
If material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address, legal@predicamentmeasures.com. It should identify the material that was removed and where it appeared, include your contact details and signature, and state under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the removal was a mistake or misidentification. We may forward a counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice.
Repeat infringers
Predicament Measures may limit or end access for anyone who is found to infringe copyright repeatedly. The site has no user accounts and comments are turned off, so most reports concern text, images or product information published on the pages themselves.
Other points
Please send only genuine notices, since knowingly false claims can carry legal consequences. This page is not legal advice. For wider rules on using the site, see the Terms of Service, and for general questions use the Contact Us page.
