Our commitment to accuracy

Readers use Predicament Measures to compare gear for emergencies, so details matter. We want the specs, prices and descriptions on the site to be right, and we want to fix them quickly when they are not. This page explains what we treat as an error and how to tell us about one.

What counts as an error

We welcome reports about anything that is wrong or misleading. Common examples include:

  • Wrong specifications, such as capacity, wattage or dimensions
  • Outdated prices or product models that have been replaced
  • Broken or incorrect links
  • Wording that is unclear or could be read the wrong way

How to report an error

Email editorial@predicamentmeasures.com. Please include the web address of the page and describe what is wrong. If you can, tell us where the correct information can be found, such as the manufacturer’s product page.

You can also use the Contact Us page if you prefer a form.

What happens after a report

Our articles are based on manufacturer specifications, public product information and aggregated buyer feedback, so that is where we start. When a report comes in, the Predicament Measures Editorial Team follows these steps:

  • Check the claim against manufacturer information
  • Fix the page if the report is correct
  • Add a note on the page when the correction is significant

Small fixes, such as a typo or a broken link, are made without a note. We don’t test products ourselves, so we can’t confirm a report by trying the item. We rely on published sources, as described in the Editorial Policy.

Prices and availability

Prices and availability are set by the stores and change often. A price on our site may be out of date by the time you read it. The store’s own page is always the final source for what an item costs and whether it is in stock. You can read more on the Affiliate Disclosure page.

Questions

If you aren’t sure whether something is an error, send it anyway. We would rather check than leave a mistake on the page. You can also learn more about the site on the About Us page.
